AMA Recap with Cryptia

On the 17th of September, 2021 at 16:00 UTC, Decentralized Club had the honor of hosting Long Nguyen for the Cryptia Team for an Ask-Me-Anything session on their Telegram page with a community of over 40,000 people. It was hosted by DC Admin, May.

The session was divided into four segments. Introductions were made in Segment 1, questions from the Twitter and website community were answered in Segment 2 and 3 respectively, and live questions from the community members in attendance were answered in Segment 4.

If you missed this event and would like to know what Cryptia is all about, you can find a recap of the interview here. Note that slight edits have been made for clarity, and links in this recap lead to images, documents, or other media.

Segment 1 – Introduction

[May]

Hello, Xin chào, 大家好, नमस्ते, Selamat!

My name is May and I’ll be hosting the AMA with Cryptia.

[Long Nguyen]

Hi everyone, nice to meet you all.

[May]

Today, we have with us a guest from the Cryptia Team, Mr. Nguyen.

Nice to meet you too. You’re welcome to the Decentralized Club and it’s an honor to have you here.

[Long Nguyen]

Thanks, @MsMayMay for your kind intro, and big thanks to you all for your interest in our project. My name is Long, co-founder, and CEO of Cryptia. I’m here to answer anything you’d like to know about our project.

[May]

Thank you for being here!

Let’s get right into the session.

We’ll now take some project-related questions for our introduction.

Before we start, I’d like to say I’m excited to be hosting Cryptia today and I can’t wait to know all about this GameFi project!

[Long Nguyen]

https://t.me/decentralized_club/607747

[May]

You’re welcome ☺️

Q1. Can you tell us about Cryptia and the goals that led to the creation?

[Long Nguyen]

It’s lovely that you start with a simple question first haha.

Let me share about our project: Cryptia is a new NFT Game developed by a top-tier Japanese Game Company with more than 20 years of experience. Super beautiful, complex, and nice gameplay.

We’re confident people will love this game apart from the play-to-earn mechanism but also game content and active community.

The 2 main visions we have had since starting this project can be summarized:

1. Create a great game for gamers, create benefits for investors.

2. Become a gate for people outside the blockchain world to come and know more about blockchain and cryptocurrency.

[May]

Looks good already.

Q2. What innovative solution is Cryptia bringing to topple its competitors with similar offerings in GameFi?

[Long Nguyen]

We will not compare our game to any specific games, but I can share our visions in each aspect that will help us in this tough competition:

1. Game: we care so much about our game and this is our top priority. Choosing a Japanese Game Company is the foundation to show our focus, even though the price to develop a game in Japan is around 10 times higher than in VN, even though we have lots of connections to Vietnamese Game companies.

2. Blockchain mechanics: Lots of people asked me questions about blockchain issues: performance, security, scalability. To be honest, we will not go crazy in this field, but we will not stay behind compared to any other blockchain project. For what other projects have done, we researched carefully. When there’s an opportunity to improve, our blockchain tech team will always be ready to find out.

3. Marketing strategies: we have FomoCraft as lead and many other VCs around to help in each region, one example VN market Kyros is in charge of. I don’t think it’s new, but we all agree marketing is super important, not only before the IDO is coming, but also long after the IDO. If we look at the traditional game world (not blockchain), you can see 60-70% of the money goes to marketing, and 30-40% goes to development. Here is the same with us.

Also, some highlights to bring out our game and attract players:

1. Beautiful art and design

2. Well planned ecosystem – the play-to-earn mechanism and play4fun for gamers.

3. Best gameplay will come out in the market until AAA-rated games get here, which we expect 2-3 more years later.

[May]

Impressive! I love that the game has Japanese origins!

Q3. Can you tell us about your “Free To Play” and “Play to Earn” mechanisms? How can we participate?

[Long Nguyen]

It will be “Play to earn” first, “Free to play” will be after in our plan when we try to reach out to users outside the blockchain world.

It’s very easy to participate in this game as soon as you have a wallet, just as any other game atm.

[May]

Q4. Could you briefly talk about $CRYPT and its utilities?

[Long Nguyen]

We have 2 tokens: CRYPT and TIA

CRYPT is the main token and will have max supply – will be used for the transaction – gatcha

TIA is a secondary token, unlimited supply, and will be used for ingame rewards. Upgrading Adventures- Items – Waging – Community Vote

Let me share some images we have for these 2 tokens

Nvm, we will share later then haha

[May]

Waiting on it.

[Long Nguyen]

No no please continue with the questions

I will share some art later

[May]

Okay!

Q5. What are the advantages of Cryptia on the BSC Network?

[Long Nguyen]

Stable, low gas fee, a high number of users is the reason why we have our game first on BSC Network. We will not stop in BSC only, we will have Polygon as well.

For the future, if there’s any chain we find advantages to our users, we will do the cross-chain.

Let me send some of the artwork we have first before going to the next question, hope you are ok with it May

[May]

Sure!

Thank you for sharing 😁

Q6. What major news should we still look forward to from Cryptia by the end of the year?

[Long Nguyen]

For Game: We will have NFT sales, Gacha, MarketPlace, Mobile versions from now to the end of the year.

For collaboration, we will have major partnerships coming. Plan to launch on tier 1 exchange market.

Community: tons of events for users.

Let me share our Gleam Campaign as our first event here, so our community and join and get the prize: https://gleam.io/plFE5/world-of-cryptia

Also our Roadmap:

[May]

Awesome!

Let’s take some questions from our Twitter community.

[Long Nguyen]

Yes sure

Segment 2 – Twitter Questions

[May]

Q1. I saw that collections like Monsters, Adventurers, etc are pretty expensive (100 BNB). Why do you think people will be interested to shell out money and acquire this?

Twitter Username: @static_current

[Long Nguyen]

What, it’s not true at all. Where’s this bad rumor, we do not even sell NFT yet. I promise the price will be affordable so players can buy and enjoy the game.

[May]

Good to know!

[Long Nguyen]

Oh, I see it’s the collection on the website. It’s a draft for future buy only, no one can buy atm.

Don’t be worry haha

[May]

😁

Q2. What is the minimum amount of $CRYPT needed to enter the game? And will it be a browser game, or will there be a client for PC and applications for mobile? Will I be able to PLAY your game in a subway car on the way to work, or is this a housewife game?

Twitter Username: @NormalGiang

[Long Nguyen]

The first version will be on browsers, and there will be a client for PC and applications on both IOS and Android also. That means anyone can play on a subway car for sure. The minimum to enter the game will be low, around 5 $CRYPT, which is our main token only.

[May]

Q3. Many projects are coming out with game approaches, but most of them focus on the economic model more than on the gameplay, resulting in simple farming or mining functions. Can you tell us how much dedication they put into the gameplay & design of CRYPTIA?

Twitter Username: @Kata800

[Long Nguyen]

Economic models are important, so I think their focus is not wrong at all. However we really really focus on the gameplay. To us, the definition of the game is for people to enjoy it, not grinding and trying to earn some money. If players feel terrible playing the game, it’s a failure both short-term and long-term for the game.

The game was developed in 2017 for the game concept, art, and design. After that, the game went dormant and was not released but during that time we put lots of effort into completing the gameplay and art and design to have a great game coming out this year.

For the past 3 months, more than 50 artists are drawing for the first NFT sales coming out next month. We believe the NFT value does not rely on the status of characters, but also on how beautiful the characters are. I can promise NFT characters in our game each is an art itself/

[May]

Very detailed answers! Mr. Nguyen, I’m impressed with your project!

[Long Nguyen]

Thanks, May. Wish I can share more of our visions and plan on the upcoming questions

https://t.me/decentralized_club/607817

[May]

☺️

Let’s take some questions from our website community.

[Long Nguyen]

U mean the flood is coming, right?

[May]

Not yet. 😅

Segment 3 – Website Questions

[May]

Q1. I saw your roadmap and was surprised that the idea and art style of Cryptia was conceptualized way back in 2017! Why did it take almost 4 years for you to implement and release your game? What was holding you back then? Also, were the initial goals of the project still intact?

Telegram Username: @Jmagsss

[Long Nguyen]

It’s true that the game was first developed in 2017. At that time game concept, art and design was developed and cherished still. During the 4 years bear market, the game went dormant and in 2021 when the time comes we will continue this promising project again. GamePlay redesigned to fit NFT, blockchain changes from Etherum to BSC and polygon chain. We think of more features for players so it fits the “Earn and Play Concept” where the community plays a huge part in the success of the game.

[May]

Q2. One of Cryptia’s game modes is PvP duels but they are not yet available to the community. Can you give us a preview of what the dynamics of this game mode will be like? And from the implementation of PvP will competitive leagues develop?

Telegram Username: @h1drX

[Long Nguyen]

Competing between players is super important because we all love it. That’s why PvP duels and Guild War are there in our roadmap. You are right seeing that PvPs and Guild war will be available until next year, which is not close. All I can share at this moment is “our PvP idea is awesome”, sorry that I cannot talk more since it’s a secret that will be revealed in the future.

[May]

Q3. I believe that to strongly promote Cryptia, large strategic partners are needed in the field of both videogames and NFTs. Do you plan to ally with some iconic figures in video games like Unity? And what about partnerships with NFT’s projects?

Telegram Username: @mctrho

[Long Nguyen]

Totally agree with you about this idea, and to be honest 80% of my current job as CEO is to connect with other projects/partners.

Announcements about partnerships will come gradually. I cannot spoil much so please join our channel on telegram or follow Twitter for more information.

Not only video games partners (I think mctrho here wants to mention Ubisoft, not Unity right?), yield guild, other NFT Game projects, but also launchpad and big blockchain tech will come on the way. Please wish me luck with my work and I won’t get fired haha.

[May]

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

All the best! No firing 😁

[May]

Awesome!

It’s now time for the flood!

In this 4th segment, I will open the group for some seconds for the live community to shoot you some pressing questions.

Please pick four original questions to answer.

Try to ignore generic, vague, and copy-paste questions 😊

Ready?

[Long Nguyen]

Understood, and waiting to the questions from our community

[May]

The group is going to be unmuted in ten seconds.

—Chat was then opened for the live community to send in their questions—

Segment 4 – Live Questions

[Long Nguyen]

I really love our community questions, all on point and seem to have no bots at all.

Can I answer now?

[May]

Thank you 😊

Sure!

[hydra]

I have noticed that Cryptia has a visual approach and a theme very inspired by medieval times. Why did you decide to develop Cryptia based on that aspect? Were you inspired by other games or perhaps a book or movie?

[Long Nguyen]

Our game indeed has theme art inspired by medieval times. Coincidence the game director and I are both fans of Lord of the rings, Dungeon, and Dragons and yes these were on our minds when we developed this game.

[James]

You talked about two tokens CRYPT AND TIA, do these two names joined together to form CRYPTIA have individual meanings?

Any exciting things we should expect from this project?

[Long Nguyen]

That is a good guess also. When we think of 2 tokens, first we try something really fun and unique. But at last, the combination of CRYPT and TIA was the final decision because those are reminiscent of the game CRYPTIA.

[Aston Rowi]

I noticed that most projects which are led by an anonymous team do scam. Can you tell us why you are anonymous and how we can be sure that our investment is safe and there is no chance of a scam?

[Long Nguyen]

All projects promise they are not a scam but some are scams, so I understand your question. However, we are not anonymous at all.

We have 3 teams running together to create this game: Game Development: GIANTY, Blockchain tech – Research team: RikkeiSoft, Marketing team: FomoCraft lead with other teams supporting.

We will not place our reputation of 3 big companies (which you can search google easily) over a project like this.

[Migl]

How important is the community to Cryptia? What is your governance model to give the power to community members? How can we help your project grow and succeed in the future?

[Long Nguyen]

Super super important. We respect the community and we believe for the game to be successful in the long run, a good community is a must. We have many mechanisms in the game so the Community can “participate” and “own” the game, following the unique concept of the NFT game which is different from traditional games. For example, Ruins owning where Ruins will not only belong to game publishers but also players. We will host events for a competition where players who finish the ruins fastest will own the ruins. Another is the community vote for new content/features of the game. We absolutely want players to join the community and decide the game in the future because the game itself belongs to players after all.

Wish I can answer more, but those are 4 questions limit already

[May]

You can if you have the time 😊

[Long Nguyen]

Yes I will do 1 more

[May]

Okay

[Nhairy]

Do you think that Cryptia could make an impact and become a trend in the GameFi space, among so many themes that inspired you to choose this very fanciful theme?

[Long Nguyen]

We are confident in the game we deliver. Many VCs asked us if we will become the next Axies, my answer is not yet, and we barely think of us as 2nd Axies. What we focus on is only about how to create a great game, for gamers because we believe games will be one of the gateways for people outside the Blockchain world to come into Blockchain with us. And by nature, if we make a great game, the success of the project will come after even with or without the current trending of GameFi. That’s how we vision our project in the long long run,

Thanks, May for your kindness
